PEZA - attached to the Department of Trade and Industry - is the Philippine government agency tasked to promote investments, extend assistance, register, grant incentives to and facilitate the business operations of investors in export-oriented manufacturing and service facilities inside selected areas throughout the country proclaimed by the President of the Philippines as PEZA Special Economic Zones. It oversees and administers incentives to developers/operators of and locators in world-class, ready-to-occupy, environment-friendly, secured and competitively priced Special Economic Zones.
The SEZ Online Skills Training Institute is one of the five projects in the PEZA DOLLAR Program focused on providing services to PEZA locator companies and their employees. With the SEZ Online Skills Training Institute, PEZA allows a platform to connect to the individual training platforms of member companies for easy access and learning delivery specially in the new normal.
PEZA’s Dollar Program forms part of PEZA’s New Ten Point Agenda. In support to Administrative Order No. 18, Accelerating Rural Progress through the Robust Development of Special Economic Zones in the Countryside and respond to herein directive to provide interventions to strengthen ecozones in the countryside and hasten human capital and infrastructure development
1. Job Expo – This aims to give job opportunities to repatriated OFWs in support to EO 114. Through the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Institute, PEZA will facilitate in matching the skills needed by our locators, ecozones, and industries. 2. Innovation & Livelihood Expo – Locators and other PEZA-registered enterprises need project-based suppliers which can be outsourced from our entrepreneurs and small and single proprietor business owners. 3. Online SEZ Training – Online SEZ Institute skills training for all ages and other potential skills training. 4. Import and Export Expo – This provides matching of our local produce and raw materials with that of the need of our exporters 5. Logistics, Transportation, Utilities and Supply Chain Expo – Through Joint Ventures and PPP, this aims to accelerate rural progress and build eco-towns, mega ecozones, eco-cities, food terminals in every region, utility providers for ecozones, construction of dormitories & shuttle services providers for workers, and new metropolitan areas in every region.
